This pillow cover introduces a serene, earthy element to your decor, crafted from vintage handwoven ikat fabric sourced from Ende, Flores, Indonesia. Featuring a rich brown background accented by softer shades of light brown and rust, the naturally dyed textile has gracefully aged to reveal a subtle warmth. The traditional ikat pattern, achieved through a time-honored technique of dyeing threads prior to weaving, adds depth and cultural heritage. Its understated elegance complements neutral palettes, infusing your space with texture and a story of craftsmanship. 

Ikat is renowned for its intricate designs and vibrant colors, rooted in centuries-old traditions of Indonesian weaving. Each piece is meticulously handwoven by skilled artisans, and dyed using natural plant dyes, often taking anywhere from 2 - 6 months per piece to complete, making it a unique work of art. Ikat patterns of weaving are handed down as a taught skill - it is a rare art in decline. We feel very fortunate to be able to source & support this art, in our own indirect way.
